FREE Bieber

I think I just Died inside Bitchiz…. :-(

A bill that makes unauthorized Web streaming of copyrighted content a felony has sparked fears that artists like Justin Bieber or others who use YouTube could spend up to five years in jail.

Some fear bill S.978 could land Justin Bieber in jail. (Image via FreeBieber.org ) The Commercial Felony Streaming Act, or S.978, was proposed by three senators in May of this year and may be introduced by the House of Representatives on Wednesday.

But could the controversial bill really affect any person who streamed or posted videos of copyrighted content to sites like YouTube?

Many advocates for Internet freedom say S.978’s open-ended language means it could.

Progressive site DemandProgress.org thinks that YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Myspace, Google+, iPhone, Android, AmazonCloud, Pandora, Grooveshark, and e-mail accounts could all be at risk under the new bill.

More than 500,000 people have signed a petition to oppose the bill on the Demand Progress site, which writes that “all of this is being driven by a few major corporations who are trying to protect their private profits.”

The bill is supported by the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, Directors Guild of America, Motion Picture Association of America, and Recording Industry Association of America, among more than 40 others.

Fight for the Future, an organization for freedom in technology, says that because copyright law is so expansive, “it applies to lots of completely harmless and common things: like singing a song, dancing to background music, or posting a video of a kids’ school play.”

To make their point, Fight for the Future launched a site today calledFreeBieber.Org. The organization points out that Bieber, who got famous by posting videos of himself singing unauthorized covers of well-known R&B songs to YouTube, could go to jail under the new bill.

But Sens. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) and Chris Coons (D-Del.), who introduced the bill, say it would never affect artists like Bieber, or a mother who posted a harmless video of her daughter’s dance concert online.

They say the bill is only intended to target Web sites or people who profit from illegally streaming copyrighted material, and that those who “stream videos without intending to profit” will not be subject to prosecution.

Many copyright experts agree with the senators, saying that fears over the bill are exaggerated.

At Copyhype, a blog devoted to copyright issues, IP attorney Terry Hart  argues that “someone who uploads a video to YouTube is not performing the video — YouTube is,” meaning a person cannot be prosecuted under S.978 any more than they could have been in the past.

“In short, the proposed legislation changes no law that would [affect] someone uploading a video to YouTube,” Hart writes. “Justin Bieber is not going to jail.”

Go To: FREEBIEBER.Org and Sign a Petition to keep Youtube Free and to keep Justin out of Harms Way!

But then again, Justin made it big with the song “WITH YOU,” by Chris Brown. Justin has Collaborated with Brown Multiple times, so maybe Brown can sign over Permission for Copyright Use over the Infringement. I don’t know how far they could get with that Considering the video is a couple years old, but its worth a try! :-D

Ryan Good

Yah know, even after 8+ Months, I’ve only showed a couple Pictures of Ryan Good and never even wrote an article involving him! :-(

There comes a time in every young boy’s life when he must learn to stand on his own, and turn his back on childish things like toys and Batman pyjamas — and swagger coaches.

OK, so maybe Justin Bieber is the only teenage boy with a swagger coach. (Maybe even the only pop star, really.) But after a flurry of tweets sent out between several members of Team Biebz, the 17-year-old singer’s fabled bro-sensei, Ryan Good, has reportedly given his notice.

“ryan is going to pursue some of his dreams . . . we encourage him 2 go after his. he will always b a part of this family. always,” Scooter Braun, Bieber’s manager, tweeted Monday.

And Bieber himself shared some well-wishes, too, writing to Good: “gonna miss u big bro” — and then daring his 13 million-plus Twitter followers to make #weloverygood a trending topic (which, of course, they did, because there are 13 million-plus of them).

It’s unclear what Good, a former assistant of Usher’s, will be doing next, though we can only assume it will involve wearing a lot of artfully co-ordinated sneakers and hoodies, i.e., Bieber’s Universal Uniform of Swag. But as Bieber’s “swagger coach” — a term coined by Bieber in a past interview — Good apparently went beyond the duties of his more official job title, “road manager.”

“I have a swagger coach that helps me and teaches me different swaggerific things to do,” he told the Toronto Star in a fall 2009 interview. “He has helped me with my style and just putting different pieces together and being able to layer and stuff like that.”

We’ll assume that, given Good’s departure, Bieber has fully mastered the art of swag — or, at the very least, colour co-ordination. Going off Bieber’s Twitter, it seems Good was still with the pop star’s crew as of this weekend, when he appeared on stage with Bieber during a concert in Mexico City.

Omb I LOVE What Ryan Tweeted along with this photo LOL!

So Long Ryan! We sure as hell will miss you! Stay close by kay! ;-)
